The Sketchbook Adventures of Peter Poplaski with Signed & Numbered Bookplate

Copyright 2005 by Peter Poplaski. Published by Denis Kitchen Publishing Co. Hardcover with dust jacket. 208 pages. $25.00 cover price.

Peter Poplaski is a longtime editor and art director at Kitchen Sink Press (1969-1999) and has worked closely with such legends as Harvey Kurtzman, Milton Caniff, Will Eisner and R. Crumb. Poplaski edited and designed the definitive R. Crumb Coffee Table Art Book for Kitchen Sink Press/Little, Brown and authored & designed the best-selling R. Crumb Handbook. His personal eccentricity of publicly wearing a Zorro costume (as recorded in Hup comix, The New York Times, and New Yorker magazine, etc.) has become a trademark.

Much of this sketchbook focuses on southern France, where he now resides (near Robert Crumb and Aline Kominsky-Crumb), and reveals a rare, true artist. The Introduction is by Robert Crumb. Afterword by Poplaski.

This particular copy is one of a special, limited number containing a signed and numbered bookplate. It is # 248 of 290 produced.
